The RNC is investigating a house fire at Humber Valley Resort that spread to the woods and required a water bomber to be called in to put out the blaze.
An officer was travelling the TCH and noticed smoke coming from the resort at around 1:45 Wednesday afternoon. After checking the property where it was coming from, police say there didn’t appear to be any one home at the time. Fire services were called in and traffic control was in place. The property owner later confirmed that no one had been home at the time.
Volunteer resort residents tried to put the fire out, but it spread to the surrounding wooded area. The Department of Forestry sent a waterbomber to help.
