    Sweetland premieres tonight at the Cineplex in Corner Brook

    Christian Sparkes's film Sweetland, based on the novel by Michael Crummey will screen Saturday at 6:30pm.

    There’s a release of a film by a Newfoundlander taking place at the Cineplex in Corner Brook this weekend. Christian Sparkes's film Sweetland, based on the novel by Michael Crummey will screen Saturday at 6:30pm. Rachel Jekanowski is a film and media professor with Grenfell’s English Department. She says they were contacted by the film’s distribution company. Jekanowski says “Sweetland” is a 2023 drama and a wonderful piece of historical fiction.
