Towns can host their own e-waste and hazardous waste collection days and can even get paid for doing it. On Bayfm’s Trash Talk Thursdays, Western Regional Waste Management’s Lynn Howse says they’ll drop off the equipment that is needed to offer such an event. She says some are offered a stipend to do this and they’ll pick everything up at the end of the day.
Howse says it’s renovation time and people tend to collect a lot of paint. She says they hosted one last year at a small local service district and collected over 100 containers of paint. For more information go to wrwm.ca
