Funding announced for seven projects in Corner Brook

    This funding will help organizations upgrade equipment and infrastructure and explore future opportunities.

    On Friday, ACOA and Rural Economic Minister Gudie Hutchings announced nearly $973,000 for seven projects in Corner Brook. This funding will help organizations upgrade equipment and infrastructure and explore future opportunities. Hutchings says “Corner Brook was built on hard work and resilience— This support will create jobs and opportunities now, to make sure Corner Brook thrives for future generations."

    Meanwhile, Hutchings also announced over $1.19 million for two west coast projects. This includes $800,000 for the Flat Bay Band Inc. – No’kmaq Village to support the completion of the Mary Webb’s Gathering Place project in Flat Bay. More than $395,000 is going to Our Lady of Mercy Complex Committee Inc. for critical improvements to the Our Lady of Mercy Heritage Site in Port au Port West. contributions totalling $1,195,659 for two projects in western Newfoundland.
