The RCMP caught up with a wanted man after a foot chase in Stephenville on Friday and in Port Saunders, they’re looking for information after an ATM was broken into and cash was taken. Shortly after 1:30 Friday afternoon, Bay St. George RCMP stopped a vehicle on St. Claire Avenue but a passenger got out and took off and fled by foot. Police caught up with him and arrested 34-year-old Michael Kane. There was a warrant out for his arrest and he was taken into custody without incident. Elsewhere, Port Saunders RCMP got a report on Sunday, about a weekend theft from the ATM at Pharmachoice in Flower’s Cove. Police believe it happened between 11:00 p.m. on Saturday and 2:00 a.m. on Sunday. Two masked individuals were caught on cameras breaking into the ATM before leaving the scene on a side-by-side. An unknown quantity of cash was taken and anyone with information is asked to contact police as soon as possible.
