Dean Frederick Penney will be back in Corner Brook Provincial Court in the new year. The 50-year-old man is charged with first degree murder in connection with the death of Jennifer Hillier-Penney. The woman has been missing from St. Anthony in November of 2016. Her remains have not been found. Penney was arrested in Deer Lake earlier this month. Today’s appearance was Penney’s third, but Friday’s court date was cancelled due to poor weather. In court, Penney’s lawyer, Rosellen Sullivan asked by phone if the case could be postponed since she has not received any disclosure from the crown.
