The Corner Brook Fire Department and the RNC laced up earlier this month to raise money for two causes. A hockey game between our heroes was held December 18th and they raised $4382.45. Money will go to the Special Olympics Vikings and Muscular Dystrophy. One of the organizers, Cst Mark Gillam says they had about 14 members on both teams. The RNC won the game 4-1. Gillam says it was a great game with a lot of community support looking up in the stands and seeing so many people and hopefully this will be the start of an annual event. He says police and firefighters had a great time at the game.
