Corner Brook Deputy Fire Chief Derek Simmons says it happened shortly after 7 o’clock this morning and they were called in to help the Corner Brook Fire Brigade at the mill.
There was a fire at one of the mill’s paper machines this morning at Corner Brook Pulp and Paper. Corner Brook Deputy Fire Chief Derek Simmons says it happened shortly after 7 o’clock this morning and they were called in to help the Corner Brook Fire Brigade at the mill. Simmons says an ambulance also attended the scene as per protocol and he has no confirmation of any injuries. Simmons says fire crews were on the scene for about an hour and a half and back in the station shortly before ten a.m. The Deputy Chief says the last time they were called out to assist with an incident at the mill was about three months ago.
