The principal of a school on the north shore of the Bay of Islands is leading a scholarship initiative by women and for the future of women. It’s called “The Future is Female” and Jessica Park of Templeton Academy in Meadows came on Bayfm to talk about it. She says this scholarship is for young women who are graduating, who are dreamers, doers, and future leaders.
Last year was the first, and Sarah Gale was selected for a $1000 scholarship. Park says it’s run by a team of women who also help with resources and mentorship. The team includes nurse practitioners, a bank manager, social workers and more.
The group will have a fundraising table set up at the Meadows Expo on September 27th.
