A hotel guest in St. Anthony was released from police custody last week after causing a disturbance and trying to run away. Cpl Jesse O’Donaghey says it happened around 9:40 a.m. on Thursday. The man was a guest of the hotel and pulled the facility’s fire alarm during an argument with staff. When officers arrived, the man failed to comply with police commands. He was taken into custody following a brief foot chase and transported to the St. Anthony RCMP detachment.
O’Donaghey says the 43-year-old man was later released on strict police-imposed conditions, and is expected to appear in provincial court on November 24, 2026, to answer to Criminal Code charges of resisting arrest and pulling a false fire alarm.
The investigation is continuing.
