CBNuit is Corner Brook’s Art at Night Festival when West Street comes alive. It will start 7 p.m. on September 19th and this is their tenth anniversary. Executive Director Louise Gauthier says this year they have three youth programs.
On Bayfm, Gauthier spoke about the youngest presenter at this year’s CBNuit, who is 12-year-old Maryann Major being mentored by Joel Stratton on a rug hooking project. Gauthier says their second young artist is Courtney and she is being mentored by Jane Ray with a photo booth idea on display. The third young artist is Katelyn Stride who is being mentored by Amanda Johnson. Stride is heading to Grade 12 and says her project includes a 4’by4’ canvas and is in line with this year’s theme of “Flow” with a concept of the flow of creativity and energy.
Johnson says she’s honoured to be part of this to be able to encourage young minds to be everything they can be.
CBNuit received five applications for the youth program this year and had to select three.
