It’s wedding and gardening season and that’s led to some questions about garbage on Western Regional Waste Management’s app. On Bayfm’s Trash Talk, Outreach Coordinator Lynn Howse says all the pretty tissue and wrapping on those wedding presents go in a clear bag as garbage.
Lawn mowing is a regular thing now that the weather is nice, and Howse says yard waste can be dropped off as bulk waste at any transfer station.
Meanwhile, Corner Brook and Stephenville will be welcoming 1600 athletes as well as their friends and family when the 2026 NL Summer Games kick off this weekend. Howse says they are looking to “Green Up the Games” and will have marked recycling bins on site.
