The Western Regional Hospital Foundation radiothon to raise money for necessary medical equipment is a little over a week away. She says the goal this year is just over $686K and one of the items will be going to Burgeo, namely a cardiac patient monitor. Carey says Bonne Bay-Port Saunders will also be getting medical equipment, glydescopes to help with airways. She says keeping patients in their home town will help free up beds at Western Memorial Regional Hospital.
