Parsons says the furthest eastern part of town gets its water from Irishtown Brook which is a small brook with embankments.
A north shore Bay of Islands community has been dealing with drinking water quality issues for a number of years now. Irishtown-Summerside Mayor Peter Parsons says boil orders have been a common occurrence for many years now. He says the next community is Meadows and they have clean drinking water. Parsons says the town is about 11 kms long and that means they draw water from three different locations. Parsons says the furthest eastern part of town gets its water from Irishtown Brook which is a small brook with embankments. Parsons says council is waiting to hear back on an application for capital works funding from government to fix the issue.
