Two separate water breaks are causing quite the mess in the downtown area.
A burst pipe in the Millbrook Mall parking lot in Corner Brook has caused localized flooding and has resulted in the complete closure of the mall.
It’s not clear at this time how much damage there is or when the mall will re-open, however water has entered the building and made its way to the lower level. Mall management has said the mall will be closed until further notice.
Meanwhile, about 30 minutes after City crews turned off water feeding the mall, another break developed on Burke’s Road causing flooding in the Broadway area. Some residents are also without water.
