With the mild temperatures and insignificant snowfall lately, the city of Corner Brook has been able to catch up on some sidewalks and curb projects. Mayor Jim Parsons says the weather has been helping staff get things off their “to-do” list. Curling Street opened to through traffic last Friday after work was completed on the retaining wall near the War Memorial. Parsons says there were issues during the project. He says a final coat of asphalt will be laid on Mt. Bernard next year and the Deep Gulch project has wrapped up for the season. As well, tenders will ago out soon for the reconstruction of the intersection at O'Connell Dive and Elizabeth Street.
