Owner Andy Wright says farmers get to share their passion for agriculture and teach visitors what a day on the farm looks like.
Sunday will mark the 25th year of “Open Farm Day,” an event that offers residents a chance to check out a local farm. This year, 14 farms have registered to host events, including Hammond Farm Feed & Supplies and Humber Valley Holsteins in Little Rapids and Wright's Family Farm in Pasadena. Owner Andy Wright says farmers get to share their passion for agriculture and teach visitors what a day on the farm looks like. He says they will have a corn boil with their fresh sweet corn and a corn chowder with a recipe that visitors can take home. Wright and his wife have been farming for 12 seasons now and says they have plenty of produce at the farm, everything from apples to zucchinis. Admission is free for all events.
