School bus drivers are exempt from using electronic logging devices.

Provincial truckers are reminded that effective December 1, those that travel more than 160 kilometres outside their home terminal or temporary worksite, and that are required to track hours of service by filling out a record of duty status, will be required to have electronic logging devices installed in commercial vehicles. These devices are used to track a driver’s hours and monitor compliance with the Hours of Service Regulations. Vehicles will be checked primarily at weigh scale stations for mandatory electronic logging device usage. School bus drivers are exempt from using electronic logging devices.
