Mayor Jim Parsons says some businesses are finding a lot of pressure in retail with online sellers.
Several businesses have closed in Corner Brook so far this month. The long standing Curling Ranger closed due to economic conditions. Other businesses closing include another Village Music and DeMarcus Restobar. Meanwhile, Corner Brook Mayor Jim Parsons says the city’s Business tax rates are fair and competitive with other jurisdictions. Parsons says these recent closures are very unfortunate. He says local businesses are finding it tough. Parsons says some businesses are finding a lot of pressure in retail with online sellers.
