Water will be released through Junction Brook and into the Upper Humber River leading to rising water levels

Deer Lake Power will open spill gates at Main Dam today for a controlled release of water from the Grand Lake reservoir. How long this will last is not known at this time. Water will be released over Main Dam, through Junction Brook and into the Upper Humber River. This will lead to rising water levels and some areas currently accessible by land may become submerged or cut off. Use caution near shorelines and waterways as well as slippery or unstable banks, strong currents and floating debris.
