It’s a big day across the country as celebrations take place to recognize Airport Workers Day and the Deer Lake Airport is inviting the public to drop by. CEO Tammy Priddle says it’s a time to take a break and acknowledge all the great things these workers do to promote travel through airports.

She says from 11-1 p.m. there will be a terminal expansion preview, from 12-5 p.m. is the YDF Market including 25 vendors with some proceeds going to the Islaview Foundation and from 3;30-5 p.m there will be a scavenger hunt. Parks Canada’s mascot “Parka” will be there and there will be face painting for kids. There are more than 224K workers at airports across Canada.
