Currently, the RNC has a class of 18 recruits attending the Atlantic Police Academy with another 20 anticipated to begin their training in the new year.
The RNC welcomed 17 new police officers at a swearing-in ceremony yesterday and some of them will be working at the Corner Brook detachment. Cst James Cadigan says these newly appointed constables will be assigned to a coach officer with Operational Patrol Services in the Corner Brook and the Northeast Avalon Regions. These officers graduated from the Atlantic Police Academy in Prince Edward Island just last week.
Meanwhile, Cadigan says recruitment for more police officers is continuing.
