One driver had their vehicle seized and license suspended for driving 168 km/hr in a 100 km/hr zone.

The RNC issued over 130 tickets in just three days in the Corner Brook region. Traffic Services members from the Northeast Avalon teamed up with Corner Brook Operational Patrol Services members to conduct speed enforcement in eight different areas from Pasadena, to both sides of the Bay of Islands. Cst James Cadigan says most of the tickets were for speeding. Enforcement targeted the Trans Canada, in addition to school, and construction zones. In total, 132 Summary Offence Tickets were issued, primarily for speeding. One driver had their vehicle seized and license suspended for driving 168 km/hr in a 100 km/hr zone. Other infractions included open cannabis in a vehicle, unregistered vehicles, expired licenses, and tinted plate protectors.

The RNC continues to urge the public to report unsafe driving behaviours directly to police. Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
