Police suspended the licenses for two drivers on the Northern Peninsula Highway this past weekend due to excessive speeding. RCMP Cpl Jesse O’Donaghey spoke about a driver doing well over double the speed limit. RCMP Traffic Services West clocked a 17-year-old doing 115 km/hr in a 50 zone.

O’Donaghey says later that day, Rocky Harbour RCMP stopped a driver on Route 430. An officer witnessed a vehicle passing a line of traffic and reaching speeds up to 149 km/hr in a 90 zone just south of St. Pauls.  The driver, a 67-year-old man, was ticketed for speeding and crossing a solid line.
