Two people are still under investigation after Holyrood RCMP seized a loaded firearm from inside a vehicle on Saturday, August 26, 2023. At approximately 1:00 a.m. RCMP officers conducted a traffic checkpoint on Route 60 in Holyrood. A loaded 12-guage shotgun was seized from inside a vehicle that entered the checkpoint and the two occupants, a 44-year-old woman and a 46-year-old man, were arrested. The two were later released from custody. The investigation is ongoing with multiple firearms charges anticipated.
