Qalipu Development Corporation gets funding to explore green hydrogen projects

    The corporation represents Qalipu First Nation, who is getting more than $165K to explore green hydrogen projects.

    Qalipu Development Corporation, is one of seven projects in the province to share $740K in Green Transition Funding. The corporation represents Qalipu First Nation, who is getting more than $165K to explore green hydrogen projects. Industry Minister Andrew Parsons says by securing funding, Qalipu Development Corporation will set a precedent for sustainable, Indigenous-led economic development. He says as part of reconciliation, Indigenous led development this is just the smart thing to do and groups like Qalipu have really come on board. Parsons  says with so many resources across the province, the benefit needs to come back to residents and the Indigenous population. He says this funding will help them with marketing and partnership development. To date, nearly $5M has been allocated under the Green Transition Fund for 27 approved projects across NL.
