Denise Hanrahan tabled the nine recommendation report on Monday saying from a weak policy environment to poor space management practices to a questionable deferred maintenance procedure, it appears MUN does not have the culture to manage its aging infrastructure.

The Public Accounts Committee will be meeting with officials at Memorial University in the near future to follow up on an audit tabled by the Auditor General this week. Denise Hanrahan tabled the nine recommendation report on Monday saying from a weak policy environment to poor space management practices to a questionable deferred maintenance procedure, it appears MUN does not have the culture to manage its aging infrastructure. MUN President Dr. Neil Bose issued a statement saying the AG’s recommendations are consistent with work that has been ongoing recently and they will continue to seek innovative approaches to address infrastructure challenges. Meanwhile, the Public Accounts Committee met with the AG this week and will request an action plan from MUN for implementation of the recommendations, and to advise that officials may be requested to appear at a future public hearing on these important matters.
