USA Today Readers’ Choice Awards positioned Porter Airlines as the most favourable economy class, ranking ahead of American Airlines, Singapore Airlines, and Delta Airlines, to name a few.
Porter Airlines, which now offers flights from Deer Lake, has won against several worldwide flight companies as the number one ranked economy class in the sky. That’s according to a new survey from the USA Today Readers’ Choice Awards, that positioned Porter Airlines as the most favourable economy class, ranking ahead of American Airlines, Singapore Airlines, and Delta Airlines, to name a few. A total of 20 airlines were nominated in the study, and then the top 10 were ranked based on votes from USA Today readers. Edmond Eldebs is Porter Airline’s Senior Vice-President and Chief Commercial Officer. He says this is quite an honour. Last year, Porter Airlines received the first delivery of Embraer E195-E2 jets. Eldebs says they’ve deployed 41 new jets on new routes across Canada and the United States, with two more to come by the end of this year. He says future growth at YDF in Deer Lake is possible. Porter has added Phoenix recently, has doubled frequency into Florida, and hired more than 2,00 team members last year. The airline is celebrating its 18th anniversary.
