Police investigating a possible case of animal cruelty after a small dog was found dead near Port aux Basques

    The Office of the Chief Veterinary Officer is involved and police are looking to identify and speak to the dog’s owner.

    RCMP are investigating a possible case of animal cruelty near Port aux Basques. Police say a small dog was found dead in a lake about 2 kms outside the town on Route 470 yesterday. The dog was wearing a collar but no tag. The Office of the Chief Veterinary Officer is involved and police are looking to identify and speak to the dog’s owner.
