Poilievre is pushing for an “Axe the Tax election,” saying it’s time to take back control over our borders, spending, inflation and housing costs to put Canada first.
Last week was intense on Parliament Hill with the cabinet resignation of former Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland. That led to a cabinet shuffle by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Friday. A number of cabinet Ministers followed suit either stepping down or deciding not to run in the next election. However, on Friday St. John’s East MP was sworn in as Seniors Minister, which was vacated by Seamus O’Regan. Meanwhile, the Federal leader of the PCs Pierre Poilievre called into Bayfm news on Friday. He says what’s happening now in Ottawa reminds him of a circus. Poilievre is pushing for an “Axe the Tax election,” saying it’s time to take back control over our borders, spending, inflation and housing costs to put Canada first. With the threat of tariffs being placed on Canadian goods by the incoming Trump administration, Poilievre says Donald Trump is a fierce negotiator. He says NDP Leader Jasmeet Singh voted on December 10th to keep Prime Minister Trudeau in office. He says any non-confidence vote in government is in his hands.
