Department of Health and Community Services said several changes have been introduced to reduce the financial burden on families.

The Provincial Government announced that it is expanding financial coverage for patients with cleft lip and/ or palate, increasing funding limits and providing retroactive reimbursements to eligible families.

Following a review of the province's Cleft Lip and Palate Program. the Department of Health and Community Services said several changes have been introduced to reduce the financial burden on families and ensure coverage reflects current MCP rates negotiated with the Newfoundland and Labrador Dental Association.

Among the changes, the province will now cover the initial assessment feel of approximately $120, retroactive to Oct. 1,2025.
