Cst. Chevarie says they found him on the side of the road and realized this was something they couldn’t fix quickly, since they had no way of charging the battery.
We’ve all heard the saying that the police always get their man, well, how about the police always helps their man.
RCMP Cst Josh Chevarie and a couple of fellow officers were on regular patrol in Bay Roberts, NL, on May 27th. He says it was a Saturday night and a woman called dispatch to report a man was stuck along Country Road after his electric wheelchair battery had died. Cst Chevarie says they found him on the side of the road and realized this was something they couldn’t fix quickly, since they had no way of charging the battery. He says they decided to manually push the man home after disengaging the automatic brakes. Cst Chevarie says they got a good workout that night but it was all worth it. He says they had a nice chat along the way. He says he was impressed with how quickly his co-worker, Cst.Tung, offered help and that it’s his first month on the job.
