Visits are down at the Corner Brook-Bay of Islands Visitor Information Centre. Nearly 2100 visitors walked through the doors during the summer looking for information. The centre is run by the Greater Corner Brook Board of Trade. President Ray Brake says before covid they would see upwards of 4000 visitors at the centre. He says all in all it was a good summer for tourism in the Corner Brook area and they hope to see numbers increase. Brake says higher inflation and less disposable income are big factors when determining tourism numbers.
