Mayor Jim Parsons says it’s a bit of a furniture frenzy there now and staff are moving in.
The city of Corner Brook finally has the keys to the new recreation centre. It includes various pools, a fitness center, and a daycare. The partnership between the city and Grenfell Campus was announced in 2020 and was originally slated to be complete by the fall of 2023. Mayor Jim Parsons says it’s a bit of a furniture frenzy there now and staff are moving in. He says there are just a few minor deficiencies to be done at this point and they expect to open during May. The original cost was $25 million but Parsons says the actual cost is about 4.7 percent higher. The name of the new facility will be announced soon.
