Laughing Heart Music in Corner Brook has launched a new label imprint to serve as a platform for artists in Western Newfoundland. Milltown records operates out of the city’s newest arts hub at 62 Broadway. The goal is to build on the story of structures and spaces impacting growth and change. The label’s name and logo pay homage to the Corner Brook Pulp and Paper Mill. In this spirit, Milltown Records announces its first releases - two albums that are rooted in place. Set for release on May 31st, the debut album from pop band BUS PEOPLE titled Starcade pays tribute to Corner Brook’s Valley Mall and the nostalgia for childhood gathering places. The second release on Milltown Records is a concept project from electronic duo Wite Rino. Dream Tower is an album inspired by the architecture of Corner Brook’s Sir Richard Squires Building.
