Police lift shelter in place order for McIvers residents, one man taken into custody

    All residents of McIvers will see a police presence throughout the day.

    UPDATE: The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) has lifted the shelter-in-place for the town of McIvers. One male has been taken into custody with charges pending. The RNC thanks the public for their assistance with this matter. Further information will be provided as it becomes available.


    EARLIER STORY: Residents in McIvers are being directed to shelter-in-place by the RNC. Officers are responding to a weapons offense in the area. There are no reports of any injuries at this time. All residents of McIvers are being asked to lock doors, and stay away from windows. There is no through traffic at this time. This is an active and ongoing response. Further information will be provided as it becomes available.
