In less than two weeks, members of the Qalipu First Nation will be heading to the polls, some to elect a ward councillor, but all members get to Vote for vice chief and Chief of the band. There are 9 wards or electoral boundaries for members in the western and central regions. Voting for the central region will take place in Glenwood and Exploits. Gander Bay was acclaimed. For the western region, there will be a ward vote for Port au Port, while Flat Bay, Stephenville, Corner Brook and Benoits Cove have been acclaimed. Indigenous Affairs and reconciliation Minister Scott Reid encourages everyone to vote.
