Employers have a chance to Hire An Indigenous Student this Summer and Qalipu First Nations will pay their wages. Dean Clarke has the details. Qalipu First Nation’s Department of Education and Training are now accepting applications for the Youth Summer Employment Program. Under the program, local businesses, non-profits, and Indigenous organizations can apply to receive financial support to hire a student. The program creates summer employment opportunities for Indigenous post-secondary students. Students must be between the ages of 15-29 and about to start or return to post secondary studies in the fall.
