A critical phase of the project was addressed Thursday whereby a culvert required a very deep excavation.

There’s been a lot of comments on social media lately about slow moving traffic along the Trans Canada Highway between Corner Brook and Deer Lake. This is due to construction in the area. Bayfm news reached out to the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure for a comment. In an email, it stated “construction projects move through various phases of construction, with some phases creating greater traffic challenges than others.”

The message also stated, “In terms of this particular project, traffic has been flowing more efficiently over the past while; however, a critical phase of the project was addressed Thursday whereby a culvert required a very deep excavation.” The work was anticipated to be completed on Friday, which should help with the traffic congestion.
