Corner Brook Mayor Jim Parsons says engineers are looking into the stability of the area and making sure it is safe.
Geotechnical engineers are on site assessing the safety of Riverside Drive. On Monday, April first a landslide in the area swept two people in a vehicle into the Humber River. Since that time, the road has been closed to traffic. Corner Brook Mayor Jim Parsons says engineers are looking into the stability of the area and making sure it is safe. Parsons says work in that area is in the preliminary stages. He says at this point, the damage to the road itself is unknown.
