Terry Cormier is from Corner Brook but went to university to be hired young by the Department of Foreign Affairs and worked there for 35 years. Cormier says the role of a diplomat is to try and understand the society that you are in and make the relationship with Canada as good as possible. At the age of 25, Cormier had two years service in the Congo. His next posting was in the south of France for four years then on to London, England where he completed another degree.
