Forest Fires in Labrador creating smoke affecting air quality and travel

    There are currently 13 active fires and some residents of  Labrador West and Happy Valley-Goose Bay are advised that smoke from the fire will be visible throughout the day and may impact air quality and travel.

    Forestry officials have provided an update on two forest fires in Labrador. There are currently 13 active fires and some residents of  Labrador West and Happy Valley-Goose Bay are advised that smoke from the fire will be visible throughout the day and may impact air quality and travel. Waterbombers and helicopters are battling the blaze and officials will be monitoring fire behaviour closely. There is no immediate threat to Wabush or Labrador City.
