The city of Corner Brook relies on money from the federal government to help with the costs of paving roads and at the last public meeting, Councillor Donna Luther spoke about how the Canada Community-Building Fund requires the city to submit a Capital Investment Plan allocating the City’s full 2024-2029 funding entitlement in the amount of $4,647,712 for the purpose of road and asphalt improvements under the City’s Annual Paving Program for 2024-2029. Formerly known as the Gas Tax Fund, the agreement covers from 2024-2034 and allocates money in 5-year-terms.
