Corner Brook Mayor says staff are overwhelmed with access to information requests and reports

• Just in time for the construction season, Corner Brook will host a town hall meeting this week

  It will take place Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Hucthings Room at city hall and is targeted towards developers and contractors but is also open to the public.

• RNC to use work-issued Iphones to collect evidence, rollout to start this summer

  Evidence is stored and available to anyone working on the file, either from their device or desktop computer, cutting out the need to carry CD’s and USB drives.

• It's National Volunteer Week and the theme is "Ignite Volunteerism"

  Bayfm Board chair Kody Gardner got involved in the early days of BOIR back in 2012 and says volunteers were very important in the beginning to get the station started. 

• Young people in western NL now have better local access to services for mental health, primary care, housing, employment, and community support. Becket Western NL, a new Integrated Youth Services (IYS) hub, has officially opened.

  Jen Crowe is the Executive Director with Choices for Youth, based in St. John’s. She says for the past ten years, they’ve been working with partners like community organizations and NL Health Services to find a solution for people aged 12-29 that didn’t involve travel to the capital city.

• Bay St. George RCMP is looking for security camera footage after a break in at Lourdes Superette.

  Police were called to the business on Main Street Tuesday after a suspect forced entry, and then damaged and disabled security equipment.
