Comments are invited on plans to construct two breakwaters in Cox's Cove

    The two proposed breakwater structures will be approximately 350 metres total length, two to three metres wide with the base spanning upwards of 20-25 metres.

    A plan to construct two breakwaters in Cox’s Cove  is under the environmental assessment process waiting on the green light from government. The breakwaters are necessary to protect critical road, water and sewer infrastructure from storm surges and future erosion  Construction will consist of armour stone placement using an excavator. The two proposed breakwater structures will be approximately 350 metres total length, two to three metres wide with the base spanning upwards of 20-25 metres. The undertaking was registered on April 22nd, the deadline for public comment is May 27th and the Minister’s decision is due by June 6th.
