May 5th-11th is Municipal Awareness Week. On Municipal Awareness Day, May 8th, there will be a public event at the Corner Brook Civic Centre Studio. This event will include outdoor equipment displays, indoor information booths, and a fun zone in the gym. Mayor Jim Parsons it’s an opportunity to see what city departments do, such as the fire department or Public Works. Parsons says there will be food and a chance to win prizes. Schools have also been invited to consider a field trip to the event and win $250 to be used for a class party with supplies or a pizza party.
