15 BOISAR members along with 3 members from Bonne Bay Search and Rescue - BBSAR, took part in rope rescue techniques.
The Bay of Islands Volunteer Search and Rescue team recently completed low-angle rope rescue training near the Man in the Mountain Trail just east of Corner Brook. Trainer Adam Gaudet says it’s a popular area that they may need to be someday. 15 BOISAR members along with 3 members from Bonne Bay Search and Rescue - BBSAR, took part in rope rescue techniques. Gaudet says they also conducted a mock rescue for practice. Gaudet says members meet every second Tuesday for training. Anyone interested in becoming a member is welcome to attend a meeting.
