B.C. Premier David Eby is supporting NL Premier Andrew Furey’s court challenge against the Federal government over equalization fairness. Canada’s Premiers met in Halifax this week and wired up yesterday with a news conference. Furey filed a Statement of Claim with the Supreme Court in June. He says this is about a question of fairness for Canadians, Premier Eby says he discussed this when Premier Furey met with him in Vancouver. Eby says the federal government is supposed to meet with Premiers every five years to review the equalization formula and that hasn’t happened since 2008.
