An unknown NL soldier form the First World War is being brought home

    Premier Furey holds a very special role as the next of kin for the unknown, representing all those who lost loved ones during the First World War.

    Premier Andrew Furey is leading a delegation of representatives from government, the Royal Canadian Legion – NL Command, the Federal government as well as other related organizations, at the Beaumont-Hamel Newfoundland Memorial in France. They are there to bring home an unknown First World War soldier from this province. Premier Furey holds a very special role as the next of kin for the unknown, representing all those who lost loved ones during the First World War. The delegation will return from France tomorrow.
