19 year old from Ontario airlifted after being stranded on a cliff in the Bay of Islands

    The York Harbour/Lark Harbour Volunteer Fire Department, Corner Brook Fire Department, Bay of Islands Search and Rescue, as well as the Emergency Services Division of the Department of Justice and Public Safety, and the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre all assisted in the rescue.

    A 19 year old male  from Ontario was rescued after becoming stranded on a rock face near the waterfall known as the “Raddler.” RNC were called out to the area of Blomidon Brook around 6 p.m. yesterday The 19-year-old was unable to get back safely. The York Harbour/Lark Harbour Volunteer Fire Department, Corner Brook Fire Department, Bay of Islands Search and Rescue, as well as the Emergency Services Division of the Department of Justice and Public Safety, and the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre all assisted in the rescue. The man was airlifted to safety by helicopter around 1:30 this morning and later reunited with family. There were no injuries.
